I first met Harry McCree nearly 40 years ago. Soon after that I met his late wife who was then on the Committee of a home for those with learning difficulties in Compton. Over the years I met them both in Winchester. After the death of his wife we met, as many others did, in Winchester High Street and particularly in Nero for a coffee where we would often have a chat. Life became a struggle latterly which he bore with fortitude and good humour. I shall miss an old friend and hope the knowledge of how much he was liked and valued will be of comfort to his family. Kind regards, John Spokes.
